Border Security Force (BSF) Jammu Frontier clinched the thriller 30-29 against Arun Sharma Sports Club in the invitational Handball match which was organised by Arun Sports and Social Welfare Trust in association with Kreeda Bharati J&K to celebrate the National Sports Day at S D Sabha ground, here today.
National joint secretary of Kreeda Bharati, Madhumay Nath was chief guest in the special event. On a three-day visit to J&K, Madhumay encouraged the young trainees and both the participating teams to take part in sports in a big way to achieve higher results with hardwork and dedication. He advised the young boys and girls to make sports part of their life so as to build India a sporting Nation.
He appreciated the Arun Trust, especially Ashutosh Sharma, for their efforts to involve youngsters in sports through the medium of Handball training centre. The visiting guest was all praise for international players from J&K, Akshay Khajuria, Dheeraj Nagpal and Sahil Padha for being inspiration for those youngsters.
The event was also joined by and Assistant Commandant of BSF, Prem Kumar as guest of honour, who also encouraged the players.
Among other prominent guests present were R C Vaid, Vikas Sharma, Rahul Sharma and O P Kesar. Senior players, who were part of the event included Gourav Sharma, Chandan Singh Chouhan, Bachan Dogra, Vinay Sharma (Handball coach), Mamta Bajaj, Sonia Jain, Neeti Kour and Atula Rajput.
